Halfway through

I wish my life could always be like this. I wish I could forever go to school and actually enjoy studying without consistently being under pressure to do well in exams. I’ve realised that this really does make a difference. If you need to focus on your marks all the time, you’re very likely to forget why you wanted to study in the first place. In language schools the whole mindset of teachers and students is different. People pay money to come here, they come here because they want to improve and not because they have to.

Furthermore, I wish I could forever walk through this wonderful city in my spare time and spend most of my time in beautiful churches or eating great food. And while having fun doing these fantastic things, I don’t have to worry about anything, for I’m a student and I don’t really have any responsibilities like earning my own money because I have lovely parents who pay for everything I need. What a fabulous life!

The last thing I wish I could keep forever are the friends I've made here. Polina, who is 17 and lives in Moscow, is one of the most humorous persons I’ve ever met. Klara, who is 16 and lives in Sao Paulo, is kind and open-hearted, the kind of friend that everybody needs in their life. I’m so glad to have met them and I hope that we can manage to stay friends when our stay in Cambridge is over, for this would give me a reason to visit the beautiful countries they live in.

Southwold

On Saturday I’ve been to Southwold. It was a trip organised by the school. Southwold is a small village and there aren’t a lot of tourist attractions to see. It was a great trip, nevertheless. We’ve spent time on the beach and visited a church with a graveyard that looked like the scenery of a horror movie. Furthermore, we had scones and tea while it was raining, what made me feel very British.
